Cajun Easter Glaze for Ham or Turkey

Very simple ingredients for this spicy glaze:

1. 1 cup pure cane syrup


2. 1 cup Creole mustard


3. 1/2 cup fine brown sugar


4. 1 tablespoon cracked black pepper


5. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon


6. 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves


7. 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg


8. 1/2 teaspoon ground filé [or sassafras works, I'm told]

Get out your stainless mixing bowl and mix it all together until it's blended well.
Use a wide basting brush and brush on your ham or turkey before baking.
